Traditional high-quality Barak kilim from the region of Kaş. Warp and weft made from hand spun sheep's wool.

Rare color composition.

This kilim was handwoven and probably kept as part of a bride's dowry. It is in excellent condition.

The following motifs can be seen:

Kurt agzi / Kurt izi (wolf mouth)

The symbol is typical of kilims woven by Turkmen Yörük nomads. It signifies strength, courage and protection from attack.

Koç boynuzu (ram's horn / ram's horn)

This motif is a symbol of fertility and heroism.

Bukagi (Shackle / Shackle)

The bondage is a kind of cuff. The cuffs are connected to each other by a chain. The shackle symbolizes the continuity of the family bond, the couple's devotion and the hope that they will always be together.
