Nomad cushion 72 x 50 cm, from the Karakecilli tribe from Anatolia. Vintage.
Nomad cushion 72 x 50 cm, from the Karakecilli tribe from Anatolia. Vintage.
Elaborately brocaded nomad cushion from Anatolia.
This is an authentic and very high-quality Cicim cushion, which was woven by the nomad women of the Karakecilli, probably in the 70s - 80s and was also used as a cushion.
It is not a kilim cushion, but a rare piece of the nomadic culture that hardly exists anymore.
We just replaced the original material on the back with a high-quality cotton fabric and added a zipper.
By the way, Cicim means"my darling"in Turkish.
The motifs and symbols of the Anatolian culture of weaving are diverse and have different meanings depending on the region and tribe. They represent happiness, love and prosperity for the family.
